Hans Asperger was a pediatrician, doctor of medicine, medical officer, director of children’s clinic and professor. His landmark paper in German on Aspergers was based on his findings of 400 children in Vienna was at first ignored. They were later translated in English in 1977. It appeared on the DSM-IV in 1994 for the first time in Canada and this is the known tool psychologists use to diagnose Aspergers.
